The Order of Isshin-Ryu Martial Arts is hosting the 2025 Red Torii Open on August 9th, 2025 at
Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, PA. This tournament is open to all styles and
systems of martial arts. Competitors and practitioners from all over the United States and other
countries such as Canada are expected to participate in this event. This tournament will attract
top competitors as well as a large amount of youth competitors.
We offer an outstanding location for this event as it is merely minutes from world famous
Hersheypark and Chocolate World! Directly across the street from the park is Hershey Outlets
and Troegs Brewery offering micro brews and a full menu. Bring the entire family and make it
an extended weekend!
Our tournament is a tribute to Grandmaster Toby Cooling, a pioneer of Isshin-Ryu Karate in the
United States and was the first to open a karate school on the Upper Eastern Shore of Maryland in
1967. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, all proceeds from this event go to the Order of
Isshin-Ryu Scholarship Fund. On an annual basis, this Scholarship provides an award for post-
secondary education tuition and expenses to support a graduating senior(s) from Lower Dauphin
High School as well as Bohemia Manor High School in the name of Walter ‘Toby’ Cooling,
himself is a graduate of Bohemia Manor.
Our tournament will have unique awards, eight different grand champion categories including
youth grand champion awards, and also $200.00 cash for adult grand champion winners!
We also have sponsorship opportunities for your dojo or business, including space to reserve a
vendor table for sale of any martial arts products or other goods. We welcome you to be a partner
in and be a part of this memorable tournament. Sponsor information is included with this formal
invitation. Note: All sponsors will receive a receipt of their donation for tax deduction purposes.
We look forward to seeing you there!
